The team of the Chysto.De NGO, which has been successfully cleaning the Carpathians from garbage for several years now, engaging in environmental protection and environmental education, is expanding its activities and this time invites you not to an eco-picnic, but to a real celebration of cinema and nature protection - a  ECO FILM FESTIVAL from CHYSTO.DE?which will take place 9-11 August in Kolochava on the territory of the Old Village skansen.

Roman Zhuk, the founder of the initiative, who gave his life for Ukraine at the front in the spring of 2022, dreamed of organising such a festival. He envisioned an event that would be both a special educational and environmental event and an impetus for sustainable tourism development in the unique Tereblya Valley.

"We have decided to strengthen eco-awareness and love of nature with cinema. This is not just another one of our creative impulses. This is the dream of our co-founder Roman, which his wife and co-founder of the organisation, Olena Zhuk, and his fellow director, producer and cameraman, Roman Ostrovsky, decided to make come true together with the team," CHYSTO.DE?

ECO FILM FESTIVAL will have four main areas of focus - ecology, film education, film screenings and tourism. During the festival, young people and teenagers will shoot videos about nature and a stop-motion animation about how garbage kills animals under the guidance of professional directors. The goal of the CHYSTO.DE?! team is to make more people fall in love with nature through cinema, to motivate them to research and make videos, to inform, inspire and unite society to protect the environment and overcome the challenges of littering, pollution and destruction.

ECO FILM FESTIVAL is about:

- environmental education through film screenings, eco- and film lectures;

- a special competition programme with further training and the Roman Zhuk Film Prize for the implementation of a creative idea on environmental issues in two categories: short film (UAH 100,000 prize) and social advertising (UAH 40,000 prize). Applications will be accepted immediately at the festival, and the number of participants will be limited.

- relaxation and reboot in the circle of special nature and powerful people.

"Always generate more dreams than reality can destroy. I love Zakarpattia and Ukraine and believe that we can grow together through a powerful example of love for each other and for our native land, despite all the challenges." - Olena Zhuk
