The Transcarpathian Regional State Administration hosted a meeting to prepare for a SWOT analysis of the regional development of Transcarpathia, which was attended by employees of the regional state administration's structural units, including the Department of Tourism and Resorts.
The full-scale war has affected both the lives of Transcarpathians and the functioning of businesses. The new challenges are primarily related to an increase in the population, the relocation of enterprises and, accordingly, an increase in the burden on the region's socio-economic sphere.

The process of forming the Regional Development Strategy involves several stages, said Natalia Boyko, consultant of the USAID GOVERLA Project. The first step is a socio-economic analysis. Specialists from the Zakarpattia Oblast State Administration's specialised departments will work together with the Project experts to collect the necessary data to identify and study current trends in the region.

The statistical information obtained will form the basis for a SWOT analysis, which will allow us to develop optimal scenarios and identify promising areas for the region's development.

In updating the Zakarpattia Oblast Development Strategy, special attention will be paid to improving energy efficiency, environmental safety, digitalisation and attracting international financial and technical assistance.
