The State Agency for Tourism Development has analysed the dynamics of tax revenues from accommodation facilities by region for the first quarter of 2023, which showed an increase in taxes in 10 regions of Ukraine.

The largest increase in tax revenues from accommodation facilities was recorded:

In the Chernivtsi region - 98%, (UAH 5 million 152 thousand in 2023 against UAH 2 million 600 thousand for the same period in 2022.

In Rivne region - UAH 17% (UAH 3 million 430 thousand in 2023 against UAH 2 million 938 thousand in 2022, which is 37% more than in 2021.

In the Lviv region - 16% (UAH 60 million 434 thousand in 2023, compared to UAH 52 million 59 thousand in 2022, and by 59% more than in 2021 - UAH 37 million 900 thousand).

In Transcarpathia, compared to 2022, an increase of 15% was recorded (UAH 16 million 842 thousand against UAH 14 million 629 thousand). And compared to 2021, taxes have almost doubled - by 46%. 

The largest decline in tax revenues from the tourism industry is observed in 6 regions that are in the area of active hostilities. In Luhansk region by 100%, Kherson region by 97%, Donetsk region by 87%, Zaporizhzhia region by 79%, Mykolaiv region by 67% and Kharkiv region by 54%.

A decline is also observed in Odesa (37% less than last year), Ternopil (23% less than last year), Chernihiv (33% less than last year), etc.

In Kyiv, the decline in tax revenues in 2023 (UAH 56 million 974 thousand) compared to 2022 (UAH 107 million 629 thousand) is 47%, compared to 2021 (UAH 125 million 100 thousand) - 54%
