Marianna Gotra, Head of the Department of Tourism and Resorts of the Zakarpattia Regional State Administration, visited Tyrol (Austria) as part of a delegation from Zakarpattia region. The purpose of the visit was to develop joint steps in the areas of tourism, digitalisation and administrative services.

The representatives of Zakarpattia visited the district administration of Schwaz and the tourist cluster of Lake Aachen. The head of the Schwaz administration, Michael Brandl, and the deputy mayor, Matthias Siterbart, introduced the work of administrative structures and developments in the field of digitalisation, as well as the powers of city councils in Austria.

In turn, Hans Entner, chairman of the Lake Aachen Tourism Association, shared the tools for administering the tourist tax and explained what expenses the funds are spent on in Austrian communities.

"We presented the tourism potential of Zakarpattia to our colleagues from Austria, and in return we received information about the opportunities of the Zillertal and Lake Aachen clusters. I am convinced that tourism will become a promising area for further cooperation between Zakarpattia and Tyrol," said Marianna Gotra, Head of the Tourism and Resorts Department of the Zakarpattia Regional State Administration.

On 12 March, the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration and the Federal Government of Tyrol signed a cooperation agreement. In addition to agriculture, the regions of Ukraine and Austria will cooperate in the fields of science, healthcare, culture, sports and tourism.
