On 24 October, the first panel meeting of representatives of local self-government bodies - the Shatska hromada of the Volyn Oblast and the Polyanska hromada of the Zakarpattia Oblast - and the event organisers - USAID GOVERLA project specialists - took place.
The event was joined by Marianna Gotra, head of the Tourism and Resorts Department of the Zakarpattia Oblast State Administration, who provided an analysis of tourist tax revenues by hromada and spoke about the legal aspects of rural estates.
"An actual case of cooperation for hromadas in the field of tourism is the functioning of a joint information portal, sections of which will be devoted to tourist attractions and routes to them in a particular hromada. An example of such a resource is the Welcome to Zakarpattia website, which highlights historical, architectural, cultural, natural, and recreational sites throughout the Zakarpattia Oblast," said Marianna Gotra.
During the meeting, representatives of the communities agreed to cooperate to create favourable conditions for the development of tourism, local entrepreneurship in the industry and improve tourism services.
