In the first three quarters of this year, representatives of Ukraine's tourism industry paid UAH 13% more in taxes (UAH 1 billion 451 million 317 thousand) than in the same period in 2022, when the budget received UAH 1 billion 283 million 180 thousand.
Compared to the same period in pre-war 2021, the amount of taxes this year decreased by 18%. At that time, UAH 1 billion 778 million 924 thousand was transferred to the state treasury from the tourism industry, reports State Agency for Tourism Development.
For 9 months of 2023, the total number of taxpayers engaged in tourism activities decreased by 11% compared to the same period in 2022. The number of legal entities decreased by 24%, and the number of individuals by 7%.
Comparing this figure to the same period in 2021, the total reduction was 36%; the number of legal entities decreased by 51%, and individuals - by 30%.

The largest share of state budget revenues is 63%, paid by hotels - UAH 916 million 648 thousand. In 2022, UAH 765 million 830 thousand was paid, and for the same period in 2021 - UAH 1 billion 31 million 472 thousand.
In the first nine months of this year, there was a slight decrease in the share of tax paid by tourist bases and children's holiday camps. The budget received UAH 106.385 million in tax from these accommodation facilities, compared to UAH 110.489 million in the first nine months of last year. In 2021, these accommodation facilities paid UAH 316.165 million.
The increase in taxes paid from campsites and caravan parks in the first three quarters of this year more than doubled compared to the same period in 2022, amounting to UAH 2.302 million compared to UAH 1.407 thousand. However, compared to 2021, when UAH 2.761 million was paid to the budget, taxes from these accommodation facilities decreased.
To recap, Over UAH 17 million of tourist tax has been paid in Zakarpattia over 10 months of this year.
