On 6 December, Uzhhorod hosted the final of the competition "Startup - UzhNU: Innovative Ideas that Bring Victory Closer!". The aim of the competition is to stimulate entrepreneurial activity among students and young scientists.

The jury consisted of academics, government and business representatives, including Ivan Myroniuk, Vice-Rector for Research at UzhNU, Oleksandr Patskan, Deputy Head of the Zakarpattia Regional State Administration for Digital Development, Digital Transformation and Digitalisation, Vasyl Homonay, Deputy Mayor of Uzhhorod, Rostyslav Fediv, First Deputy Mayor of Mukachevo, Bohdana Nosa, Head of the Department of Tourism and Resorts of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, entrepreneur Oleh Adamchuk, Head of the Transcarpathian Bureau of Forensic Medicine Stepan Bodnar, and Kateryna Skubenych, Head of the Department of Patent and Licensing and Commercialisation of UzhNU, chose the best startup from 8 of this year's brightest projects.

Evaluating the innovative idea, public presentation, practical results, and economic calculations, the competition committee selected the winner of the startup - a project by brothers Myroslav and Ihor Honcharuk-Khomyn, Ihor Tukal, and Vitaliy Rusyn entitled "Integrated Medical Information Programme for Dental Identification of Military Personnel and Persons Affected by Military Operations: Algorithm and Software."

The top three also included the projects of Oleksandr Kuzmenko - "Superhard strengthening of surfaces of dual-purpose parts" and Oleksandr Kolesnyk and Ivan Sklyar - "A new dosage form of an antiseptic for rapid individual use".
