On the initiative of the Department of Tourism and Resorts and with the participation of the Association of Transcarpathian Tourist Support Specialists, the press centre of the RSA hosted training for representatives of national parks, cultural institutions and tourist attractions on inclusion and barrier-free access.

At the beginning of the training, Marianna Gotra, Head of the Tourism and Resorts Department of the Zakarpattia Regional State Administration, drew attention to the importance of following the national strategy for creating a barrier-free space in Ukraine and spoke about the upcoming implementation of the Tourism and Resorts Development Programme in Zakarpattia Oblast, aimed at ensuring accessible conditions for people with disabilities to visit tourist facilities.

In turn, Iryna Roshkovych, deputy director of the Regional Centre for Comprehensive Rehabilitation for Persons with Disabilities, spoke about the ethics of communication and interaction with people who have difficulty moving, as well as those with communication difficulties, hearing or visual impairments.

Regional coordinator of the all-Ukrainian mental health programme "Are You OK?" Taisiia Symochko introduced the basics of ethical communication with the military, and Liudmyla Mordanynets, a specialist at the Social Protection Department of the Polianske Village Council, spoke about inclusive tourism as a comprehensive approach to creating a favourable social environment.

It should be added that according to the results of the monitoring conducted by the Ministry of Reconstruction in 2023, Zakarpattia region received an average degree of barrier-free accessibility. In the region, 46% physical environment and services were recognised as partially barrier-free.
