Over the first 6 months of this year, more than 254,000 people visited Transcarpathian museums, and the institutions conducted 1,820 excursions for visitors.
According to the most visited museums in the region, this was reported by the Department of Tourism and Resorts of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration.
Four museums received the most tourists: the Transcarpathian Regional Museum of Local Lore named after T. Lehotskyi (89,824 people), the Mukachevo Historical Museum (71,121 people), the Transcarpathian Regional Museum of Folk Architecture and Life (54,442 visitors) and the Transcarpathian Regional Art Museum named after Y. Bokshai (37,072 visitors).
As a reminder, for the whole of 2022 museums in Transcarpathia were visited by more than 551,500 tourists.
In turn, the national parks of Zakarpattia received 52,738 guests in the first half of 2023. In particular, the Synevyr National Nature Park was visited by over 40,000 tourists and the Carpathian Biosphere Reserve by about 11,500.
In 2022, 111,956 tourists visited the national parks of Transcarpathia.
