On Friday, 20 October, with the support of the Department of Tourism and Resorts of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, an information and educational tour of Rakhiv district was held for travel companies, tour guides and the media.

The participants of the event visited interesting tourist locations, went on excursions and tastings, and learned more about the craft production of the mountainous region of Transcarpathia.

The first stop on the tour was the Museum of Abnormal Horns in Rakhiv. Vasyl Tusher's private collection includes more than 250 pairs of roe and deer horns. The collector's exhibits also include tusks and stuffed animals and about two hundred wall plates. Finally, Vasyl Tusher performed Hutsul kolomyikas for the guests.

After gaining strength at the natural spring "Burkut" in the Vaskul tract, the tour participants went to the Rosenthal eco-farm in Kvasy.

There are 150 goats on the farm, and emotional contact with them is the most effective way to overcome sadness and depression.

By the way, it is here that the largest metal goat sculpture in Europe is located

and a brynzarnya, where everyone is shown how budz, the basis of Hutsul bryndzya, is made.

Rosenthal Eco-Farm's products include hard, semi-hard and semi-soft yoghurt cheeses made from milk of local Brown Carpathian and Holstein cows, Oceania goats and sheep milk.

They also bake Hutsul pizza from melay flour, make pasta, ravioli and jaffa lekvar.

The next stop is Tsypa.

Participants were given a tour of the craft brewery, which produces 28 types of beer (including milk beer and beer made from pickles) and were introduced to the full process of creating a drink, which they then had the opportunity to taste.

In turn, the head of the Rakhiv Hutsulshchyna tourist centre, Yurii Sas, introduced the exhibits of the Hutsul life museum.

And the owner of the Hutsulato distillery will be there with her signature Kvasy cake, handmade sweets, sheep's milk ice cream and other craft sweets.

The culmination of the educational tour was an art evening "Hutsul treats" - a dinner of 12 authentic dishes accompanied by Hutsul music.

"During the information tour of Rakhiv district, we discussed a number of important issues regarding cooperation between travel companies, local craft producers and locations to increase tourist flows. We would like to thank all the participants of the tour: travel companies and guides for their attention, and the owners of craft establishments for their hospitality. Such events will certainly increase the tourist attractiveness of the region and draw the attention of travellers to new tourist magnets," said Oleksandra Horzov, Deputy Head of the Tourism and Resorts Department of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration.
