On 6-7 December, a delegation from Transcarpathia and representatives of the Kyiv authorities visited Budapest to share experiences and discuss current trends in the tourism industry in Hungary and Ukraine. The participants of the meeting were the First Deputy Head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Vasyl Ivancho, the Chief of Staff of the Regional State Administration Ruslana Naturkach, the Head of the Tourism and Resorts Department Marianna Gotra, the Head of the Tourism Marketing Department Oleksandra Horzov, as well as representatives of the State Agency for Tourism Development of Ukraine and the city of Kyiv.

Martha Fazekos, a representative of the Hungarian Tourist Agency, introduced the colleagues to tourism activities, tourism legislation and the country's tax system. Boros Botond, a representative of NTAK, explained the principle of operation of the digitalised system that collects statistical data, and Vera Szuch-Balazs presented the marketing tools of the wine industry. In turn, representatives of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration spoke about the development of tourism in the region.

"We have emphasised to our European partners the importance of supporting the tourism industry by state and local authorities, and we plan to adopt the experience of the tourism taxation system and the regulation of tourist tax collection in our region," said Vasyl Ivancho.

At the end of the visit, the delegation visited the Varoslyget park in the Hungarian capital, where the House of Music, a modern tourist centre, and the Ethnographic Museum of Budapest, one of the largest museums in Europe, are located.

"The purpose of visiting the city park is to exchange experience in developing destinations and promoting cultural institutions to increase tourist flows to the locations and the city as a whole," said Marianna Gotra, head of the Tourism and Resorts Department of the Zakarpattia Regional State Administration.

The event was organised with the support of the Consulate General of Hungary in Uzhhorod.
