Rakhiv is turning into another transport hub in Zakarpattia. Starting from December 2022, a comfortable regional train, the Marmaros Express, will run from Rakhiv to the Romanian city of Vali-Viseului.

This was reported by Ukrzaliznytsia.

"The net journey time (excluding customs procedures) from Rakhiv to Vali Viseului is about 40 minutes through a picturesque mountain valley. Border and customs control will be carried out on board the train upon boarding," Ukrzaliznytsia said.

The first test run on the restored Rakhiv-Dilove Vala-Viseului section (Romania) was carried out on 8 November.

Ukrzaliznytsia plans to operate two flights a day with the possibility of transferring passengers to trains of the Romanian railway CFR. Trains run daily from Vali Viseului to Sigheti, Cluj and Bucharest stations.
