The village of Kvasy in Rakhiv district is among the TOP 5 Ukrainian villages that could be included in the UN Tourism Best Tourist Villages network in 2024.
The mountain village-resort of Kvasy is known for its mineral healing springs, craft products and the production of Hutsul blankets.
Along with Kvasy, the villages of Zelenyi Hai (Dnipro region), Vorokhta (Prykarpattia region), Ulych (Lviv region) and Olyka (Volyn region) were nominated.
For reference: UN Tourism launched the Best Tourism Villages initiative in 2021. Since then, 190 villages from all over the world have joined the network, with no Ukrainian villages among them yet. This global initiative recognises villages that are leading the way in rural development and preserving landscapes, cultural diversity, local values and culinary traditions.
