The Tour de Ukraine multimedia team travelled to Rakhiv district to shoot a film about Kvasy, a popular craft village and recovery centre in the middle of the Chornohora and Svydovets ranges with a record number of mineral springs, Hutsul flavour and Zakarpattia's signature hospitality.
The travel bloggers spent a week in the Kvasy valley, climbed the Menchul mountain valley and witnessed the seasonal celebration of farmers - cows being driven to high pastures.
The filming locations included a revived century-old cheese factory that produced alpine Emmental cheese in the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the Sheshul and Vesnarka mountains, and the Hirska Tysa sanatorium.
"We tasted fresh sheep vurda and visited the sheep herders and the last inhabitant of the high meadow on Mount Vesnarka. We also learnt the secrets of Hutsul fashion and brewed craft beer from spruce and tomatoes. It's a delicious film in every sense," said Valeriia Mikulska, the host of Tour de Ukraine.
