On the occasion of the Tourism Day, which is celebrated annually on 27 September, the Department of Tourism and Resorts of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration prepared an eventful programme with the participation of representatives of the region's tourism industry.

Together with the museums of Transcarpathia, the following were organised the Free Hours campaign. On 26-27 September, Transcarpathians and guests of the region could visit the participating museums for several hours free of charge.

At the same time, a conference with various panel discussions was held at the Owl's Nest Historical and Cultural Complex. First, representatives of the Uzhhorod City Council Vasyl Tsap and Marianna Sobran discussed with the participants the further development of Uzhhorod tourism under martial law and introduced the participants to the developments in filling the tourist portal visit-uzhhorod.com.

Marianna Gotra, Head of the Tourism and Resorts Department of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, addressed the employees of the region's tourism sector with a welcoming speech, noting that the main goal of the region's tourism specialists is to restore the population of Ukraine after the armed aggression of the Russian Federation.

The health, mental and psychological recovery of Zakarpattia guests was discussed during the following panels by tourism and hospitality expert Oleksandr Koval, head of the Solva Progress NGO Margarita Zahumennova, regional coordinator of the mental health support programme "Are you okay? Taisiia Symochko, and Alisa Smyrna, organiser of hiking and cycling tours in the Ukrainian Carpathians, children's excursions and local history programmes, and guide.

The celebration of the Tourism Day was also attended by Deputy Head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Igor Shynkariuk, Mayor of Uzhhorod Bohdan Andriyiv, and Deputy Mayor Ivan Zavydniak.

For their diligent work, significant contribution to the development of the tourism industry and active citizenship, they were awarded certificates of honour and letters of thanks from the regional military administration and the regional council:

Also on the Tourism Day, the first meeting of the working group on the preparation of the draft "Programme for the Development of Tourism and Resorts of the Transcarpathian Region for the period 2024-2026" was held.

To celebrate the holiday, the Department of Tourism and Resorts of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration organised a competition for children "Draw Transcarpathia".

The winners will receive gifts with the symbols of the Transcarpathian tourism brand
