The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine has approved the decision to include the "Traditional holiday "Mira", typical for the inhabitants of the Hutsul Rakhiv region, in the National List of Elements of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Ukraine with the inventory number 083. Today, this list includes 88 elements. The area of heritage to which the Yasinia tradition belongs is "Customs, rites, celebrations"
This was reported by the Transcarpathian Regional Organisational and Methodological Centre of Culture.
According to the Hutsul tradition, on the day of Mira, the owners take their sheep to the meadows, where they milk them in public. The milk is brought to the main leader, who takes control measurements with a horse's mouth. Accountants sitting next to him enter this data for each sheep. This is done so that the shepherds know how much cheese they will have to give to the owners while the animals are on summer grazing.
The measure in the Yasinya community in the Rakhiv region has similarities with those in the Tyachiv and Khust districts. There, the day when sheep's milk is measured and they are driven out to the meadows is called "Mishania".
