On 14 October, we celebrate an important event for the whole of Ukraine - the Day of Defenders of Ukraine!
This year, this holiday has a special significance, which is why many different events are planned to celebrate it. We have prepared for you announcements of events and other activities, festivals, concerts, and masterclasses dedicated to the celebration of this Day in Uzhhorod.
13 October
- The Honoured Academic Transcarpathian Folk Choir invites you to a charity concert in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and on the occasion of the Day of Defenders of Ukraine. The beginning is at 16:00. Place: Teatralna Sq.
2. On the occasion of the Day of Defenders of Ukraine, the following events will take place concert of the academic brass band (director - People's Artist of Ukraine Volodymyr Spivak). The beginning is at 18:30. Venue: the Great Hall of the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic. The concert programme will feature bright masters of the stage Halyna Havrylko (soprano), Myroslava Shvakh-Pekar (mezzo-soprano) and accordionist Yevhen Tsanko. The event is held in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Entrance is free for military personnel.
14 October
3. The Transcarpathian Regional Drama and Comedy Theatre will host charity patriotic concert "We were born in a great hour"dedicated to the Day of Defender of Ukraine. The event will take place on 14 October at 14:00.
4. Donetsk Academic Regional Drama Theatre, Mariupol - in Uzhhorod invites you to poetry evening by the creative team of the play "The Cry of the Nation"dedicated to the Day of Defenders of Ukraine. The beginning is at 18:00. The venue: Small stage of the Transcarpathian Academic Music and Drama Theatre named after Sherehiy brothers. Entrance fee: any donation to the Movement to support Transcarpathian soldiers.
5. On the occasion of the Day of Defenders of Ukraine, the following events will be held Charity fair to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine organised by the Pervotsvit NGO. Time of the event: 14.00 to 17.00.
6. At 14:00, the following will take place "MILITARY ride" bike ride dedicated to the Day of Defenders of Ukraine. The ride starts from Bohdan Khmelnytsky Square (near the flag). During the bike ride, participants will visit the memorial to the defenders of Ukraine. The final stop of the bike ride is the Transcarpathian Regional Organisation of the Ukrainian Society of Civil Engineers (147a Sobranetska Street). At the end of the bike ride, the winners in the Miss and Mister MILITARY nominations will be determined. The requirement to participate in the bike ride is to wear military-style clothing and state symbols.
7. On the Day of Defenders of Ukraine, Transcarpathian Regional Universal Scientific Library named after F. Potushnyak will turn into a place for creativity, gastronomic discoveries, workshops for the whole family and relaxation. On Friday, TATOHub.Uzhhorod will present a new project aimed at supporting people affected by Russia's armed attack. The project focuses on psychological and psycho-emotional support for families whose members are currently at war, have been forced to leave their homes, or have suffered because of the Russian attack. The official start of the programme will take place on 14 October, on Friday at 10:00. Throughout the day, various locations of the regional library will host yoga, macramé and Thai cooking workshops, family relay races, and a presentation of IDP social entrepreneurship with a tasting of craft candied fruit.
