The State Agency for Tourism Development has investigated the dynamics of tax revenues by region for the first six months of 2023.
Tax growth in the first two quarters of this year was recorded in the capital and 14 regions of Ukraine.
In terms of tax revenue growth (2021-2023), Zakarpattia ranks 4th among all regions of Ukraine.
This year, tax revenues from the tourism industry in Zakarpattia increased to UAH 35 million 916 thousand compared to UAH 33 million 154 thousand in 2022. For comparison, in 2021, the amount of revenues was UAH 24 million 748 thousand.
The largest increase was recorded in the Kyiv region, which paid UAH 111 million 157 thousand to the budget in the first 6 months of this year, compared to UAH 63 million 190 thousand in the same period in 2022. 
The largest decline in tax revenues from the tourism industry was recorded in six regions that are in the area of active hostilities or have been de-occupied. Thus, in Kherson region, the decline was 92%, in Luhansk region 88%, in Donetsk region 72%, in Zaporizhzhia region 65%, in Chernihiv region 44%, and in Kharkiv region 34%.
