In January 2026, local budgets in Zakarpattia Oblast received payments totalling £2,992,300 tourist tax, which is 21.7% higher than in the same period of 2025, according to the Department of Tourism and Resorts of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration.
The largest amounts of tourist tax went to the budgets of local communities:
Meadows – 694.8 thousand UAH
Uzhhorod – 527.4 thousand UAH;
Barynivtsi - 438.4 thousand UAH;
Advance payments – 155.6 thousand UAH;
Mukachevo – 138.8 thousand UAH
Onokivtsi – 137.4 thousand UAH;
Justa – 131,000 UAH;
Yasinya - 127.8 thousand UAH;
Pilipets - 118.3 thousand UAH.
Given the amount of tourist tax paid for January and the established rates of tourist tax in the territorial communities for domestic tourism, the approximate number of tourist days can be estimated as 79 102The calculation of the indicator does not take into account tourists from privileged categories (veterans, children under 18, and those who came for treatment with a voucher).
The growth occurred at the expense of diligently paid tourist tax by tax agents. This includes: tourist tax paid by private individualsentrepreneurs establish 1 717,3 thousand UAH, and the fee paid legal entities – constitutes 1 275 thousand UAH
