Between January and May 2025, 10,535,000 UAH in tourist tax was paid into the local budgets of Zakarpattia Oblast, which is 32.7% more than in the same period of 2024.
The tourist tax paid by individuals amounts to UAH 6,019.5 thousand, and the tax paid by legal entities amounts to UAH 4,515.6 thousand, according to the Department of Tourism and Resorts of the Zakarpattia Regional Military Administration.
The largest amounts of tourist tax were received by the budgets of territorial communities: Polyana village – UAH 2,191.0 thousand; Uzhhorod city – UAH 1,813.2 thousand; Baranintsi village – UAH 812.3 thousand; Yasinia town – UAH 732.5 thousand; Koson village – UAH 718.0 thousand; Mukachevo city – UAH 620.1 thousand; Berehove city – UAH 520.8 thousand; Pylypets village – UAH 460.5 thousand; Vynohradiv city – UAH 405.8 thousand; Onokivtsi village – UAH 376.4 thousand.
Taking into account the established tourist tax rate in territorial communities for domestic tourists of up to 0.5 of the minimum wage as of January 1, 2025 (UAH 8,000), it is possible to estimate the number of tourist days during the reporting period, which amounts to approximately 322,300 tourist days.
However, this calculation of tourist days does not take into account persons who are exempt from paying the tourist tax for temporary accommodation services: military personnel, war veterans, participants in the liquidation of the aftermath of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident; persons arriving on treatment vouchers; children under 18 years of age; persons arriving on business trips; disabled persons and their escorts.
