Perfect farming enterprise
The Perfect farm was founded in September 2012. It is located in the village of Tarnovtsi, 2.5 kilometres from Uzhhorod, the regional centre of Zakarpattia Oblast. The checkpoint between Ukraine and Slovakia is located 10 kilometres to the north, and the checkpoint between Ukraine and Hungary is 26 kilometres to the south.
The company's main objective is to grow apples using European technology. This is facilitated by the unique climate of Zakarpattia, which is sandwiched between the Carpathian Mountains and the Danube Lowland. The Carpathian Mountains prevent the penetration of cold air masses from the north, so the region's climate is shaped mainly by humid air masses from the Atlantic Ocean and continental air from temperate latitudes.
The area of the orchard is 21 hectares. It grows 14 varieties of apples: "Golden Delicious, Early Golden, Red Jonaprince, Florina, Gala, Fuji, Granny Smith, Mutsu, Aidared, Champion, Pinova, Jonagold Supra, Red Chief, Red Spur Delicious. All seedlings are grafted using M-9 technology. The garden is equipped with drip irrigation.
