On 27 October, a conference "Opportunities for the development and prosperity of the tourism industry in Transcarpathia" was held in the village of Choma, Berehove district
The head of the Department of Tourism and Resorts of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Marianna GotraAndriy Meshter, Chairman of the Transcarpathian Hungarian Tourist Board, Alexandra Csizmadia, Consul of the Consulate General of Hungary in Uzhhorod, and other distinguished guests.
"It is important that cross-border cooperation projects contribute to the development of tourism, the study of history, the preservation of cultural heritage and traditions, and help to restore the strength of the population. By supporting such joint projects, foreign partners once again show their support for Ukraine," said Marianna Gotra.

The conference topics included historical and cultural tourism as a tool for promoting the cultural heritage of the community, the state of wine tourism in the rayon, tourism education in vocational education, etc.

The participants of the event also got acquainted with the exhibits of the Visitors' Centre and opened the Yurt Museum in the Memorial Park.
The conference was held as part of the Via Tisza tourism project under the Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine Cross-border Cooperation Programme 2014-2020.
