Ostrich farm
The ostrich farm is located on the outskirts of Khust. Today, the breeding farm is home to about 40 exotic birds originally from distant Namibia.
You don't have to travel all the way to Africa to see exotic ostriches. The natural conditions of the region proved to be quite suitable for ostriches, and they are quite unpretentious in their diet - they eat almost everything - and do not require special care. Nevertheless, they are very useful.
The owner of the farm calls raising birds a zero-waste production. They use absolutely everything from the ostrich.
They sell ostrich meat and eggs. The dietary meat tastes like beef and does not contain cholesterol. Restaurants make delicious pancakes and omelettes from eggs, and the shells are used for Easter eggs.
Dozens of tourists come to Vasyl Perets' farm to admire the feathered exotics from a distant African country. But the ostriches are used to the frequent visits of guests, and they come to the fence themselves. After all, tourists don't come to the farm empty-handed - they bring tasty treats that the animals have learned to take from people's hands.
