It is the least known of all the castles in Transcarpathia. The first mention of the fortress dates back to 1273. The charter of the Hungarian King Laszlo IV states that the castle was taken from the enemies of his father Istvan V. The last written information about Bronets Castle found at the present stage is a mention in the charter of the last Arpadovich - Hungarian King Endre III. There is no specific information about the destruction of the castle.
