Lviv hosted the Third National Tourism Summit, which brought together about 400 industry representatives from Kherson, Poltava, Vinnytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Zakarpattia, Lviv, Kharkiv, Odesa, Ternopil and Sumy, as well as experts from around the world.

Transcarpathia was represented at the event by the head of the Department of Tourism and Resorts of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Marianna Gotra, the head of the Economic Development Department of the Uzhhorod City Council Vasyl Tsap, representatives of the Kvitka Polonyny sanatorium Marharyta Zahumennova and Agnes Kemenyash, the owner of the Mirella confectionery Myroslava Holonych, the director of the Izky eco-resort Andriy Boyko.

The summit discussed Ukraine's integration into the European tourism space, and UN Tourism representatives Bekah Jakeli and Cordula Volmuter spoke about the global challenges facing the global tourism industry.

"During the roundtable on the eve of the summit, we agreed with UN Tourism representatives to develop joint recommendations for further steps to restore Ukraine's tourism potential, taking into account current challenges and trends, including climate change adaptation, balanced economic growth, preservation of cultural heritage and the environment, and support for communities," said Marianne Gotra.

The main topics of the panel discussions at the III National Tourism Summit were domestic tourism, reintegration of the industry into the global economy, Ukrainian code as a basis for promoting the national tourism product, ways to organise successful tourism management and local gastronomy as a global trend in the tourism sector.
