More than a hundred participants from 10 regions of Ukraine and abroad gathered at the International Economic and Tourism Forum held on 3-4 October at the Derenivska Kupil sanatorium in Zakarpattia. Over the course of two days, experts in energy, logistics, exports and tourism discussed important decisions in these areas of the country's life. The event was supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine.
On the eve of the forum, representatives of the tourism industry from 10 regions of Ukraine came to Zakarpattia at the invitation of the Department of Tourism and Resorts of the Zakarpattia Regional State Administration. They took part in a presentation of the region's tourism potential held at the Transcarpathian Museum of Folk Architecture and Life and a tour of Uzhhorod Castle.

The International Economic and Tourist Forum was opened by the acting head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Myroslav Biletsky, the deputy head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Vasyl Ivancho, the deputy head of the Transcarpathian Regional Council Vasyl Demyanchuk, the head of the State Agency for Tourism Development of Ukraine Mariana Oleskiv and UNDP Regional Coordinator in Zakarpattia Oblast Esma Umerova.

On the second day of the forum, participants focused on the tourism industry in an era of instability.
"We heard from experts about what the industry needs to reach a development plateau after the end of the war and reviewed successful cases of the tourism business, which is developing even in this difficult time for the country. We are grateful to the Transcarpathian craft producers for presenting products that have the potential not only for promotion within the region but also for export to other countries. It's nice that the forum in Zakarpattia brought together experts not only from a dozen regions of Ukraine, but also from our foreign partners," said the head of the Tourism and Resorts Department of the Zakarpattia Regional State Administration. Marianna Gotra.

The Head of the Tourism Department thanked the servicemen - representatives of the tourism sector of Transcarpathia, who are now on the front line defending Ukraine and continue to support the development of tourism in the region.

Two panel discussions were held during the forum, with speakers including Olena Kazmina, President of the Association of Inbound Tour Operators of Ukraine, Denys Rynskyi, Marketing Director of Emily Resort, Andriy Boyko, founder of Izky Eco Resort Andriy Boyko, Consul of the Consulate General of Hungary, Alexandra Csizmadia, head of the NGO "Kvasy nalnuyйся" Alexander ShatalovHead of the Association of Winegrowers, Winemakers and Distillers of Transcarpathia Alexander GarnovdiySvitlana Tsybak, head of the Association of Craft Winemakers of Ukraine and co-founder of the Wines of Ukraine brand, Inessa Izay, director of Muse Travel, Myroslava Holonych, founder of the Mirella coffee and confectionery, Viktor Papp, head of the Med Karpat TM, and scientist.

In conclusion, the forum participants got acquainted at the fair with the products of Transcarpathian producers of honey, cheese, wine and other craft products that are also exported abroad.
