Zadar County and Zakarpattia Region signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the economic, scientific, technical, tourism and cultural spheres. This happened during the visit of a delegation from Zakarpattia to Croatia in September.

The delegation from Zakarpattia Oblast included Ruslana Naturkach, Chief of Staff of the Oblast State Administration, Marianna Gotra, Head of the Tourism and Resorts Department, and Hanna Fazykosh, Head of the Zakarpattia Oblast Court of Appeal.

At the County House, the guests from Ukraine were welcomed by Prefect Božidar Longin, his deputy Šime Vikić, Chairman of the Zadar County Assembly Zoran Šikić, Head of the Department of Tourism and Economy Ante Siauš, Head of the Department of Croatian Veterans, Associations, Demography and Social Policy Josip Vidov and other specialists from the Zadar County.

Božidar Longin presented the development potential of the Zadar County to the guests from Ukraine and emphasised the friendly support of the Ukrainian people. In turn, Ruslana Naturkach, Chief of Staff of the Zakarpattia Regional State Administration, thanked her Croatian colleagues for organising the reception of children from the families of Ukrainian veterans.

Marianna Gotra, Head of the Tourism and Resorts Department of the Zakarpattia Regional State Administration, spoke about the development of the tourism sector in the westernmost region of Ukraine and outlined the priority areas of work in the industry aimed at restoring the strength of Ukrainians, preserving tourist attractions and developing national parks to encourage guests to engage in active tourism.

During the meeting, representatives of the Zadar County together with the delegation from Zakarpattia signed a Memorandum of Understanding on establishing cooperation in the economic, scientific, technical and cultural spheres.
