At the initiative of the Department of Tourism and Resorts of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, a roundtable discussion was held in Uzhhorod on the topic of "Development and promotion of the health and wellness potential of the Transcarpathian region as a priority area of tourism under martial law". The event was attended by about a dozen representatives of the region's healthcare facilities.
In her welcoming remarks, Marianna Gotra, Head of the Tourism and Resorts Department of the Zakarpattia Regional State Administration, noted that the purpose of the meeting was to establish coordination between representatives of healthcare facilities in the region and to organise a promotional tour of Zakarpattia health resorts with the participation of Ukrainian and European tour operators and the media.
The importance of using modern promotion tools for the development of health tourism in the region was emphasised by Oleksandr Koval, head of Tourinform Zakarpattia. In turn, Margarita Zagumenova, head of the Solva-Progress NGO, presented the participants with a "Directory of health resorts in Zakarpattia", commissioned by the Zakarpattia Regional State Administration's Department of Tourism and Resorts. Its online version is available on the website of the Department of Tourism and Resorts of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration "Welcome to Transcarpathia".
The participants of the meeting agreed to organise an information and educational tour to the region's health resorts in the near future to promote this priority tourism destination in the region.
