Marianna Gotra, Head of the Tourism and Resorts Department of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, took part in the IX Congress of the Union of Ukrainians in Romania.
The event was held in Bucharest on 21-22 October and was attended by representatives of the Romanian Parliament and Government, local state administrations of Romania and Ukraine, the World and European Congress of Ukrainians, and the Zakarpattia Regional Council. The strong support for Ukraine was evident in the speeches of all participants of the Congress.

During the congress, the head of the Union of Ukrainians of Romania and member of the state's parliament, Mykola-Myroslav Petretskyi, said that over the past 5 years, the organisation has held more than a thousand different events in Romanian counties to support and promote Ukrainian culture and traditions, and also spoke about helping Ukrainians who were forced to leave their homes due to Russian aggression.
Marianna Gotra congratulated Mykola-Myroslav Petretskyi on his re-election as President of the Union of Ukrainians in Romania and thanked him for his support of Ukrainians and joint projects for the development of Zakarpattia.

"Thank you for continuing to support Ukrainian traditions, language and culture and for educating the youngest Ukrainians - our future. Since the first day of the full-scale invasion of Russia, the Union of Ukrainians in Romania has provided important support to Ukraine - thousands of tonnes of humanitarian aid. And hundreds of volunteers of the organisation have been working around the clock at the borders and throughout Romania to help Ukrainian refugees. We will continue to work on strengthening the Ukrainian-Romanian ties," said Marianna Gotra.
