The adventure-historical film Dovbush by Oles Sanin will be released nationally on the occasion of the Independence Day of Ukraine.
The film is one of the most expensive Ukrainian films, with an estimated budget of over UAH 90 million. The film was shot in the Carpathians, Ternopil region and Kyiv.
In Zakarpattia, the Svydovets Ridge became the shooting location for the film Dovbush.
A Hutsul cheese dairy was built in the Vurda meadow and Hutsul buildings were built on Lake Gereshaska especially for the film. Local shepherds were also involved in the filming.

The film Dovbush is set in the Carpathians at the beginning of the eighteenth century. The cruelty of the Polish gentry forces the Hutsuls to flee to the mountains. The brothers Oleksa and Ivan Dovbush find themselves outlawed and become opryshky. However, one seeks money and the other justice, so the brothers become enemies to each other.
