In the military year of 2022, the amount of tourist tax in Ukraine was UAH 178 million 948 thousand, which is 24% less than in 2021. Back then, the total amount of the tourist tax was UAH 235 million 461 thousand.

The drop was recorded in 14 regions of Ukraine. These are mainly the regions that were or are in the combat zone and temporarily occupied, the State Agency for Tourism Development of Ukraine.

Thus, in Kherson region, the amount of tourist tax decreased by 95%, in Mykolaiv region - by 90%, in Donetsk region - by 83%, and in Luhansk region - by 80%.

Due to the internal migration of Ukrainians from the occupied and frontline territories, the safer regions have seen an increase in tourist arrivals.

 

Thus, Lviv region became the leader in the amount of tourist tax in 2022 - UAH 41 million 430 thousand (+79% compared to 2021). It is also among the leaders in the payment of tourist tax: Zakarpattia region - UAH 19 million 471 thousand (+65.7%), Ivano-Frankivsk region - UAH 17 million 956 thousand (+73.4%) and Cherkasy region - UAH 12 million 555 thousand (+67.7%).
