Director Olha Shumovska told about the events offered by the Transcarpathian Regional Local History Museum. The grand opening of the programme will take place on 17 May at 11:00 and will continue with a concert of the pupils of the spiritual and creative development department "Dzherela" PADIYUN (headed by S. Lutak).
At 12:30, the visitors will be able to see the opening of the updated and modernised exposition of the Nature of Transcarpathia museum;
12:50 - poetry about nature performed by IDP children from the charity organisation Platform for Transformation;
13:15 - opening of a new section "Charitable activities of Maria Theresa for the Mukachevo Greek Catholic Diocese" in the exhibition "From the history of the spiritual culture of Transcarpathia in the seventeenth and early twentieth centuries";
13:40 - Medieval dances by the Tartan House of Historical Dance;
From 14:00 until the end of the museum day, Cossack songs will be performed by Vasyl Polazhynets with guitar, and a fundraising event for the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be held.
The director of the Transcarpathian Museum of Folk Architecture and Life Vasyl Kotsan announced an equally eventful programme, which will begin on 17 May at 13:00 with museum celebrations on the occasion of the professional holiday. Also on this day, at 14:00, an exhibition of paintings by members of the Creative Association of Professional Artists of Transcarpathia "Uzhhorod - Spring 2024" and a personal retrospective exhibition dedicated to the 50th anniversary of Mykhailo Belen's artistic activity "The World of Sculpture and Graphics" will open.
The next day, 18 May, the museum will host an open day. In addition to viewing the already mentioned and ongoing exhibitions, from 10:00, visitors will be able to take part in a number of creative workshops (clay modelling, pottery, beadwork, etc.) by the leading craftsmen of the region.
The highlight of the event will be the Regional Children's Folklore Festival and Competition "Rainbow Chime", which will be traditionally held by the Transcarpathian Regional Organisational and Methodological Centre of Culture. More than fifty participants will demonstrate their vocal, musical, dancing and acting talents. The opening of the festival-competition is at 11:00.
From 12.00 to 14.00, traditional children's games and entertainment will be organised for young visitors on the territory of the estate from the village of Tybava, Svalyava district.
Throughout the day, the skansen will host a fair and sale of decorative and applied arts and crafts, as well as craft products from the producers. There will also be a children's win-win lottery and a food court from the charity volunteer organisation Movement to Support Transcarpathian Soldiers.
On 17 May at 15:00, the Transcarpathian Regional Art Museum invites you to the opening of the exhibition of works by famous Transcarpathian artists, father and son - Zoltan and Stepan Sholtes.
On the same day, at 17:00, a concert of the chamber orchestra of the Uzhhorod Music College will take place. In addition, according to Vasyl Husti, head of the Folk Literary Museum of Transcarpathia, a new informative picture and book collection, 7 Wonders of the Silver Land, has been prepared for the Museum Day. "Mountains, healing springs, the centre of Europe in the village of Dilove, Synevyr, Narcissus Valley, Transcarpathian castles and wooden churches - references to these Transcarpathian "wonders" in the visual arts, as well as in literature - fiction, local history, tourism - will be presented to our visitors in this exhibition."
This and other exhibitions will be open to the public free of charge on Saturday, 18 May.
