XXI International Festival of Classical and Contemporary Music "Musical Constellation of Transcarpathia"

From 13 to 27 November, the XXI International Festival of Classical and Contemporary Music "Musical Constellation of Transcarpathia" will be held in Uzhhorod

This year's festival is dedicated to a landmark anniversary - the 30th anniversary of the Transcarpathian organisation of the National Union of Composers of Ukraine. According to its head, a well-known composer, teacher of the Uzhhorod Music College named after D. Zador, Honoured Artist of Ukraine Viktor Telychko, the founders of the professional musical culture of Transcarpathia, Desiderii Zador and Istvan Marton, once dreamed of such a centre in the region. "In 1994, during the lifetime of Istvan Fedorovych, this dream was realised: we created our own union centre. Today, we have considerable achievements, including annual projects, one of which is the Music Constellation of Zakarpattia. The festival has a rich history and a respectable list of participants, including Heroes of Ukraine Myroslav Skoryk, Yevhen Stankovych, Anatoliy Avdievsky, Nina Matvienko, and a number of leading bands and soloists from 13 countries, whose performances covered almost all genres - from a classical ballet evening to an electronic music concert."
This time, in view of the anniversary of the regional branch of the UWCU, the festival programme will be based on the works of Transcarpathian composers - Desiderii Zador, Istvan Marton, Yevhen Stankovych, Vasyl Haiduk, Yevhen Irshai (Slovakia), Volodymyr Volontyr, Viktor Telychko, Viktor Yants, Roman Medentsi (Hungary).
The festival will begin on Wednesday, 13 November, at 14:00, with a festive event "Transcarpathian NSKU Organization - 30 Years", which will be joined by the Mukachevo Boys And Young Men Choir School and the Transcarpathian Academic Regional Puppet Theatre "Bavka". The programme will continue with concerts featuring the Cantus Choir, the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic, and the ensembles and soloists of the Uzhhorod Music College. The final event will be a video concert "Vasyl Haiduk - composer, teacher, musician and public figure".
Festival events at the Uzhhorod Music College are free of charge, and concerts at the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic are free of charge. Visit the official website for tickets with a symbolic price. The management of the Philharmonic assisted in organising the discount in order to attract as many listeners as possible, including students.
The "Musical Constellation of Transcarpathia" is held year after year in our institution and with the participation of our creative teams. The activities of the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic are closely related to the work of Transcarpathian composers - both the founders, in particular, Istvan Marton, who worked in our institution for many years and left a huge creative legacy, and contemporary composers. The Philharmonic is doing everything to ensure that the event, which aims to promote the works of famous composers of the region and discover new names, is interesting for both participants and visitors," added Ivan Mykyta, director of the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic.
