The IV D.E. Zadory Open Piano Competition will take place in Uzhhorod on March 20-21.

To conduct a competition Uzhhorod Music College named after D. Zador With the aim of enriching and promoting the legacy of Ukrainian piano art, honouring the memory and popularising the creative work of the outstanding pianist, composer, and founder of the Transcarpathian compositional school, Deziderij Zador, as well as supporting talented performers and improving the professional skills of teachers.

The competition participants are students from art schools and establishments of specialist pre-higher education in the field of culture.

Following the first (qualifying) round, approximately thirty solo pianists from Zakarpattia (Uzhhorod, Chop, Berehove, Pyiterfolvo, Tiachiv), as well as from Lviv, Stryi, Drohobych and Zaporizhzhia, will compete in the second (final) round of the competition.

On Friday, March 20th, at 10:00 AM, the grand opening of the competition will take place in the college's main hall, with a welcome from the organisers and jury members, as well as a performance by the laureate of international competitions, student Yulia Mandzyuk of the Lviv Mykola Lysenko National Music Academy.

The competition auditions will take place over two days. The performers' skills will be judged by a highly professional international jury, headed by a renowned pianist from Uzhhorod, Professor of the Lviv National Music Academy named after M.V. Lysenko, People's Artist of Ukraine, Yozhef Ermin.

The awards ceremony for the winners and the gala concert will take place on Saturday, 21 March, at 2:00 PM.
