Personal exhibition of paintings "The Contemplative" by Andriy Kuruts

We are pleased to announce a personal exhibition of paintings "The Contemplative" by Andrii Kuruts.
13 March, Wednesday
16.00 hrs.
Transcarpathian Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Life, 33a Kapitulna St., Uzhhorod, Ukraine
Andrii Kuruts was born in 1945 in Uzhhorod. Since his youth, he has been interested in art and painted.
His oeuvre includes paintings and graphic works, as well as portraits, landscapes, still lifes, and abstract works. The main theme in his work from the 70s to the present day is the cityscape, most often - our Uzhhorod.
Andrii Kuruts is an independent artist, not affiliated with any unions or associations. He has been working intensively and creating since the 1960s. His first exhibition was held at the Snack Bar cafe-museum in 1999, followed by exhibitions at the Diptych Gallery and the University Library of Foreign Literature. The proposed exhibition will be the largest of these.
The artist is not well known to the public, so today's exhibition is a kind of discovery for many Uzhhorod residents.
The artist himself tells us about his exhibition:
"Lately, I've been interested in details taken out of context rather than in broad panoramas. Nuances and impressions. The results of "travels" to places that are familiar from childhood, with unexpected surprises. Details.
A wall illuminated by the sun. Shadows. In which one can see strange "rustles" of long-past walks with parents, later with friends and girlfriends. And even later, with their children. Memories. Things we saw together once, without attaching much importance to what we saw. So sometimes it seems that I see through their eyes and for them - especially those who will never see it again.
For the most part, despite the tragic events around us, it has matured into an impromptu, joyful, (sometimes sad) perception of life in the city and in the city. But I think that's an inappropriate wordiness. But, in the end, it's just one of the interpretations..."
We sincerely invite you to the opening of the exhibition!
