Events for the International Children's Day
1 June is International Children's Day. On the occasion of this holiday, regional cultural institutions have prepared a rich and varied programme. It includes premieres of plays, concerts, themed exhibitions, workshops and other activities. Some events will start tomorrow.
Transcarpathian Regional Library for Children and Youth
29 May - an exhibition of drawings by children with hearing impairments - pupils of the Uzhhorod Special School of I-III grade "Rainbow Dream of a Childhood";
30 May - Open Day; from 10:30 a.m. - "Chytaliya Country Invites" (excursions, quizzes, flash mob, "Drawing on the Asphalt").
On this day, the librarians will also visit the students of the Uzhhorod Special School of I-III grades with a creative masterclass.
Transcarpathian Museum of Folk Architecture and Life/Uzhhorod Skansen
29 May at 10:30 - a joint event of the museum and the Service for Children of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration: awarding the winners of the photo contest "My Family is My Talisman", an entertainment show, a museum quest "Journey through Transcarpathia".
Honoured Academic Transcarpathian Folk Choir
29 May at 14:00 - charity event "Transcarpathian Folk Choir for Children" in the village of Chynadiyovo.
Academy of Culture and Arts
29 May at 15:00 - charity event "Bright Dream of Childhood": a concert and choreographic staging of Vasyl Skiri's fairy tale "How Bilyavchyk was afraid of a monster" staged by Honoured Artist of Ukraine Mykhailo Shyutiv (PADIYUN).
Uzhhorod Music College named after D. Zador
29 May at 17:00 - "In the Embrace of Music" - a recital by Alina Gyrich, 4th year student of the Singing Department, graduate. The teacher is Honoured Artist of Ukraine Marianna Sukholova, the arranger and leading accompanist is Tetiana Shabanova (Great Hall of the College).
Transcarpathian Regional Organisational and Methodological Centre of Culture
30 May at 14:00 - opening of the exhibition of fine and decorative art "Children's Dreams" - works by students of art schools in the region (atrium of the Regional State Administration building).
Uzhhorod Castle, Tyvodar Lehotskyi Museum of Local Lore
On 30 May, from 10:30 to 16:00, a thematic event "Day of Owls in Uzhhorod Castle":
- 10:30 - meeting with owls in the exhibition "Nature of Transcarpathia";
- 11:30 - quest "Mysterious and mysterious owls" (by prior registration);
- 14:00 - a workshop on making owls out of cardboard;
- 15:15 - tour of the Owls and Owlets exhibition.
Transcarpathian Academic Regional Puppet Theatre
1 June:
- 11:00 and 13:00 - screenings of the premiere performance of The Thread Factory based on the play by Lesya Kichura and directed by Yana Titarenko;
- 12:00 - a game programme on Teatralna Square (life-size puppets, exercises, crafts);
- 15:30 - the premiere of the play "The Adventures of Slivochka" - an exciting and informative story that will remind children of the need for daily dental hygiene, the importance of regular visits to the dentist and, most importantly, that dentists should not be afraid. The play was created by the theatre's chief director, Honoured Artist of Ukraine Natalia Oreshnikova and the head of the literary and dramatic department Nina Malyshka.
Transcarpathian Academic Music and Drama Theatre named after brothers Y.-A. and Y. Sherehiy
On 1 June at 11:00, 14:00 and 17:00 - the premiere of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory based on the famous work by Roald Dahl and directed by Yana Bogomolova.
Before the show, the youngest viewers will be able to enjoy interesting activities and a fairy-tale photo zone in the theatre lobby.
Transcarpathian Regional Art Museum named after Y. Bokshay
1 June at 11:00 - a drawing workshop by the Honoured Artist of Ukraine Serhiy Biba; a thematic exhibition of children's drawings and a book exhibition Writers for and about Children.
Transcarpathian Regional Theatre of Drama and Comedy (Khust)
On 1 June at 13:00 - a fairy tale game "When Animals Still Spoke" based on the works of Ivan Franko and directed by Volodymyr Zavalniuk.
Academic chamber Cantus Choir
1 June - presentation of the concert programme "Sounds of Heaven, Voices of Earth" featuring works by Ukrainian composers:
- 16:00 - in the Greek Catholic Church of the Ascension in the village of Novoselytsia;
- 18:00 - at the House of Culture in Velykyi Bychkiv.
Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic.
On 1 June at 17:00 - a concert programme "Children for Peace" performed by Honoured Artist of Ukraine Oleksandr Sadvariy and Halyna Havrylko. The concert will also feature: Olga Chundak (piano), Eric Dobzhenetsky (guitar), bands and young talented vocalists - Sofia Grigorieva, Mark Kovrov and Alexandra Shebela.

2 June at 14:00 - screening of the cartoon "Janos the Knight" (M. Hubai studio-hall).
Transcarpathian Regional Universal Scientific Library named after F. Potushnyak
On 3 June at 13:00 - a masterclass on making sweets "Dolce Vita" - dedicated to the International Children's Day and World Cake Day (Department of Foreign Language Literature, 10 Kapitulna St.).
