A selection of events for the weekend
Regional cultural institutions have prepared a rich and diverse programme of events for the coming days for residents and guests of Transcarpathia:
31 January (Friday):
- 10:00 and 12:00 - screenings of the fairy tale "Magician - Dia Slide Show" in the Transcarpathian Regional Hungarian Drama Theatre (Berehove);
- 15:00 and 19:00 - screenings of the play "The Witch of Konotop" by the National Academic Drama Theatre named after Ivan Franko (based on the story by Hryhoriy Kvitka-Osnovyanenko and directed by Ivan Uryvsky) at the Transcarpathian Academic Music and Drama Theatre named after Sherehiy brothers;
- 15:00 - concert "Transcarpathian patterns" by teachers and students of the Uzhhorod Music College named after D. Zador (large hall);
- 18:00 - charity screening of the play "Mariupol Drama" by the Donetsk Academic Regional Drama Theatre, Mariupol - in Uzhhorod (based on the play by Oleksandr Havrosh directed by Yevhen Tyshchuk) on the stage of the Transcarpathian Academic Regional Puppet Theatre (the play is subtitled in English).
1 February (Saturday):
- 10:00 - international cultural and artistic event "Folk costumes and embroidery in the collection of the Transcarpathian Regional Museum of Local Lore named after T. Lehotskyi";
- 11:00 and 13:00 - screenings of the play "About Valybuk, Princess Nebiysa and Longbeard" (based on the play by Pavol Uger and directed by Natalia Oreshnikova) at the Transcarpathian Academic Regional Puppet Theatre "Bavka";
- 17:00 - concert programme of the Honoured Academic Transcarpathian Folk Choir "Unity in Diversity" on the stage of the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic;
- 19:00 - screening of the play "The Algernon Effect" (based on the work of Daniel Keyes, directed by Oleg Melnychuk) at the Transcarpathian Academic Regional Ukrainian Music and Drama Theatre named after the Sherehiy brothers.
2 February (Sunday):
- 11:00 and 13:00 - screenings of the play "The Last Turenne" (based on the play by Oleksandr Havrosh and directed by Oleksandr Kutsyk) in the Transcarpathian Academic Regional Puppet Theatre;
- 12:00 - a romantic fairy tale "The Tricks of King Drozdoborod" (based on the fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm, directed by Klara Berets), 18:00 - a fantastic trap drama "The Station" (based on the play by Oleksandr Vitr, directed by Mykhailo Fishchenko) at the Transcarpathian Academic Regional Ukrainian Music and Drama Theatre named after the Sherehiy brothers;
- 17:00 - concert of the Academic Symphony Orchestra and soloists of the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic. "A symphonic journey through Transcarpathia to Europe";
- 18:00 - screening of the whimsical drama-mystery MAVKA Forest (based on Lesya Ukrainka's drama-extravaganza Forest Song, directed by Alisa Smereka) at the Transcarpathian Regional Drama and Comedy Theatre (Khust);
- 18:00 - screening of the play Frida (based on the diary of Frida Kahlo, directed by Oleh Melnychuk) in the Transcarpathian Regional Hungarian Drama Theatre (Berehove).
