The exhibition "A bag full of hope"

The exhibition "A bag full of hope"

We have great news for all lovers of Transcarpathian traditions!
Today, the exhibition "A Bag Full of Hope (from the Museum's Stock Collection)" opens in the apse of our Skansen.
Everyone will be able to examine taystras, besagas (sakvy), dzienky and other types of bags. They were important elements of the folk burden of our countrymen, as they were used to carry various loads.
Of course, along with their practical significance, they also had a ritual value. For example, after Easter, the owner touched each cattle with a besagami with sacred utensils. And in some villages of Zakarpattia, the obligatory gift for the new mother of the bridegroom was leather boots ("bokonchi", "bokanchi") or shoes ("topanky") carried by the headman in an embroidered bag ("taistryna").
Welcome to the museum! The exhibition will last for a month.
