To feel \"winter-like\" happy, you should visit Khust district. It is in this region that some of the most interesting ski resorts and recreational \"oases\" in Transcarpathia are located: Izky, Podobovets and Pylypets. The village of Podobovets is surrounded by picturesque mountain slopes. In summer, it is pleasant to walk here on foot, picking blueberries, and in winter, the small village turns into a wonderful ski resort. The village is located 12 km from Volovets railway station.<\/p>

The resort is located at an altitude of 950 metres above sea level and has downhill runs. Podobovets is worth a visit not only for skiers but also for snowboarders. The village has several trails of different lengths and levels of difficulty, with a total length of 2,500 metres. There are very steep slopes for skiing gurus, and gentle 400-metre-long trails for beginners. The height difference on the resort's territory is 320 m. One of the highlights of the resort is its suitability for freeriding, i.e. free, off-piste skiing.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>\r\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The resort offers 4 drag lifts up to 1,230 metres long, as well as a small children's lift. A 700-metre-long drag lift stretches towards Volovets. Near one of the private cottages, there is a piste that is illuminated at night, so you can ski here even when it gets dark (and in winter it happens quite early). Of course, beginners will find not only equipment rental, but also an instructor - and even entire ski or snowboard schools to help them. The ski season here lasts from December to March.<\/p>

Podobovets is one of the country's most prominent ski resorts, but is it worth going there for people who are not keen on sports activities? Of course it is, because in addition to skiing, Podobovets also offers baths, saunas, restaurants and cafes. You can also try your hand at flying a motorised glider. In winter, tourists can ride snowmobiles and horse-drawn carts. In summer, you can simply go horseback riding around the village.<\/p>

The best time to visit this corner of Zakarpattia is during the Christmas holidays. Traditions are respected here, so tourists can hear traditional Ukrainian carols, see a nativity scene, and taste traditional dishes.
