On 20 September, at 16.00, an exhibition of works \"Bunker\" opens in the halls of the Transcarpathian Regional Art Museum named after Y. Bokshai. The exhibition will last until 01 October 2024.
\nObjectivity of perception of the world is illusory because it is subject to the principles of relativity. Art performs only the function of augmented reality as a phenomenon that manifests itself in this way.
\nBUNKER<\/p>\n
We consider the \"bunker\" not as a structure, but as a concept in the study of transformations of ideas and gradations of psychology of the subjective perception of relative security. Metamodernism, as a characteristic feature of contemporary art, is a proposed position or platform from which to observe. The apocalyptic period is the conditions, circumstances of the process and the temporal context of communications.
\nFor a certain period of time, the bunker was perceived as a somewhat archaic concept from the past fortification and historical content. Our imagination complemented it with a sense of a secret, somewhat mystified place that was not subject to external influences of intervention. Parallel associative series have accompanied each of us since childhood. For example, a table covered with a blanket turned into a house. A garage, basement, attic or barn, a corner or a teenager's room, a recording studio, an office, a workshop, a laboratory... As a natural need for separation and formation of personal space and the basis for differentiating relations with the outside world.
\nApocalyptic periods have a radical impact on the established imaginations, endowing them with different meanings. Temporality is transformed into durability, chaos loses its tendency to self-regulation, meanings change in a kaleidoscopic manner, and absolutes are levelled in their meanings. The protection bunker becomes a burden under the pressure of phobias, dissonances, and information compression. Such periods are characterised by transcendence of critical states. They do happen. And although they are not the end of the world in the total sense, they are tragic and destructive in fact. Natural disasters, environmental catastrophes, epidemics, economic crises... and, of course, wars as the crown of the demonic element.
\nIn the context of upheaval, art is seen as having three roles: service, therapy and uplifting. But what does it actually do? How does it express itself when extrapolated into the context? What does it say and what does it see, peering into the twilight of loss and disappointment? Here are a few of the imperatives that are still glowing beyond the pathos and populism. What good can an artist say when he or she passes through the stages from philanthropist and pilgrim to misanthrope and renegade within a day? Only to wish for silence.
