Carpathian Biennial at Uzhhorod Scansen
The exhibition collection of the XIII Carpathian Biennial includes 246 graphic works by young artists under the guidance of teachers from art institutions. The "CARPATHIAN BIENNIAL" unites children and young people from Ukraine, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, and Poland.
The exhibition presents classic printmaking techniques: linocut, monotype, drypoint, woodcut, and others.
It is the works of the youngest participants that convey sincere and positive emotions, and hand engraving, despite the threat of disappearance in the digital age, retains its value. Hand engraving is one of the oldest forms of human self-expression and remains relevant today.
The aim of this biennial is to preserve this form of artistic expression, as it connects hands, mind and soul.
