Transcarpathian Museum of Folk Architecture and Life
Transcarpathian Museum of Folk Architecture and Life - is an original ensemble of Ukrainian national heritage consisting of architectural gems of an ancient Transcarpathian village and samples of the oldest and most common types of folk applied art. It is one of the first open-air museums in Ukraine. It was opened to the public in June 1970.
From west to east, there are examples of dwellings and estates of the lowland Transcarpathians - the valley dwellers, and on the hill - the highlanders: Boikos and Hutsuls, as well as residential buildings of the Hungarian and Romanian population.
The open-air museum houses 7 manors, 6 residential buildings, a church, a bell tower, a school, a smithy, a mill, a cloth mill, and a tavern. In total, the museum has over 14,000 exhibits.
